Job Description The Louisville, Kentucky site of BAE Systems,
provider of some of the world's most advanced, technology-led
defense, aerospace and security solutions, is actively seeking an
Engineering Technologist / Laser Tracker Operator. This position
will support on 1st Shift on the "9/80" schedule (with every other
Friday off). This role is responsible for developing quality plans,
quality assurance procedures, performing layout work on applicable
measurement equipment using Faro, Leica or similar laser inspection
equipment and offline programming using PCDMIS CAD or Spatial
Analyzer software.
Reads and interprets customer
drawings and specifications and identifies appropriate inspection
methods.Interprets geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
(GD&T) specifications.Performs first piece, last piece, and
in-process inspection checks.Evaluates nonconforming material to
determine final disposition.Provides support to Manufacturing
Engineering and other business units.May direct the work of less
senior personnel.Uses laser tracker to align components to machine
coordinates.Determines best fit for weldments to optimize machine
stock.Supports when needed on off-shifts and/or via
overtime.Maintains a safe work environment and ensures compliance
with safety objectives and policies.Required Education, Experience,
& Skills
High School diploma (or GED or
equivalent) and eight (8) years related work experience, or an
Associates Degree and six (6) years related work experience, or a
Bachelor's Degree and four (4) years related work experience, or
the overall equivalentProficient with Microsoft Office software
(Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.);Working experience with Ansi Y14.5
GD&TExperience reading and working with blueprintsWork history
with portable Metrology Inspection and AlignmentUnderstanding of
and the ability to use shop mathAbility to support overtime and/or
the off-shift team when needed.Preferred Education, Experience, &
Skills
Experience performing inspection and
alignment with Leica Laser TrackersPortable Metrology experience
using Spatial Analyzer or equivalent softwareCMM programming and
operation using PC-Dmis or equivalent softwareMechanical Inspection

Salary Range: $70735 - $120250Please note: This range is based on
our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are
determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to:
business considerations, local market conditions, and internal
equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills,
