Description:Lexington Country Place is seeking a Director of
Nursing to join the team!The Director of Nursing reports directly
to the Executive Director. PURPOSEDirector of NursingThe Director
of Nursing is responsible for the direction and development of the
nursing department. Makes hiring recommendations from candidates
for vacancies in these positions. Evaluates job performance and
makes retention and termination recommendations based on those
evaluations. Issues corrective discipline as required.PRINCIPLE
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDirector of NursingEnsure that
appropriate and adequate staffing is in place for the skilled
units.Evaluates Nurse Managers/Supervisors performance and makes
decisions regarding retention, wage adjustment and
promotion.Receives, investigates, and resolves employee questions,
suggestions or complaints in accordance with facility open door
policy and the employee grievance procedure.Oversee the clinical
processes/systems in the facility to ensure that practice is
maintained as per Senior Lifestyle standards, policies & procedures
and within state and federal regulatory guidelines. Manage the
survey process when present in the facility.Coordinate with the
Admissions Coordinator to review all potential admissions
identifying potential care, behavioral, family issues and the
facility's staff ability to care for.Monitor current health
records, follow-up on incidents and issues with skilled residents
and/or families, and schedule meetings as needed.Follow-up as
indicated with falls, infection control, skin issues, unusual
occurrences, medication delivery error, and any other issues
requiring attention.Ensure, review, and follow-up with quality
assurance parameters including chart audits, log audits, and the
scheduling of in-services as indicated.Develop and maintain a
working relationship with professional providers of care to skilled
residents both within and outside the facility.Maintain a
professional and informative relationship with both the NHA and ED
of the community, keeping them abreast of nursing issues as they
develop and any potential impact on the facility.Perform other
duties as assigned.Compliance/SafetyEnsures compliance with state
regulationsSubmit all state reportable incidents to the Risk
Management and Operations teamEnsures compliance with all state and
federal regulations (i.e. OSHA nurse practice acts, etc.) and
Phoenix standards as it pertains to clinical careUnderstands and
practices the proper method of attending to and disposing of and
the possibility of exposure to blood borne pathogens, bodily
fluids, infectious waste, sharp sticks and hazardous chemicals
immediatelyOversees community risk management programResponsible
for collecting, analyzing, and Reporting Phoenix clinical
indicators monthly and if necessary, participate in the development
and implementation of a community improvement planPartner with the
Executive Director and other community associates to analyze and
maintain all resident and associate safety Partners with pharmacy
consultant to provide optimal pharmaceutical services to
residentsResponsible for infection control programmingResponsible
for the safe and efficient distribution / administration of
injections, nebulizers, medications and moderate wounds care per
state / provincial regulationsActs as Lead in an emergency (e.g.
elopement, fire, disaster, etc.) according to the chain of
authority identified in the community disaster
planRequirements:EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE-
CERTIFICATIONDirector of NursingCurrently licensed as a Registered
Nurse in the applicable state necessary for the communityKnowledge
of long-term care state and federal regulations.Knowledge of the
state survey process.Has strong leadership interests and
ability.Has a desire to act as a resource person, and a desire to
assist all nursing staff to develop individual skills and
potential.Must have exceptional customer service skills.Must
facilitate teamwork and be a team player.Must be in good standing
with the facility attendance policy.Must have a neat and
professional appearance.Must meet all in-service requirements of
